Enjoy your day!! -
MrsRoadRunner ., Mar 8, 2011, 12:56PM ESTHAHA I hear ya! If the camera loves someone, I might just drive them nuts with photographs haha!!
I started out in front of the camera. I was just a baby when I won the first contest. Older I hated it!! I hated being dressed up,being told what I was and was not going to wear and the make up felt heavy on my face and the lights were so hot and people touching my hair and yuk!! So I through a fit and never wore dresses again HAHAHAHAHA!! Or make up for that matter HAHA. I got my stubborn steak very young HAHA!
The tv news spot with the snakes was not my idea. The b/f at the time was the spokes person. He liked being out front and that was fine by me. BUT the news producer people thought it would be good to have a female in the spot. Sooooooo for the animals I did it. I sound and look very uncomfortable for I was uncomfy!! Heck at the time I did not even know what I was saying...... I was just trying to get it over with! The radio people had photographs taken with the snakes and that was cool, I just stepped out of the way HAHA! There is no reason why I should be put in such a spot. People behind the camera are there for a reason I feel......

MrsRoadRunner ., Mar 8, 2011, 12:40PM ESTOIC ya sounds like the basics as I do!! I have been really hankering to pic up my pencil again so who knows, maybe I will start drawing again??
I do have to reevaluate everything to do with the photographs and such..... the store is really taking away a lot of my time. I am wondering if getting into more galleries, going back to the one on one thing might just be better?? Who knows??
Oh I was just talking at a post this morning about the stealing thing! People here in gather do not know everything that goes on in my world and why I am not posting as I did. There are reasons.... oh wow you may understand this one??
The art gallery show there was someone I new right? I am trying to figure this dude out, he is older and appears to be maybe getting altimers (sp)?? Anyhoo I am pretty quiet in social situations, and he acted as if he did not know us, so fine. Who am I to interrupt him. He helps me with my disabled son and obviously has had no training with such people, so he knows me haha ~ yesterday we seen him again and he talked etc.. to us of course. I am giving him the benefit of the doubt, as far as seeing him at the gallery etc.. but you know how some people are in public...... maybe he is uncomfy in public too, but knowing him and his career etc.. I would not think so but.....?? He probably did not put two and two together of who I am either?? Like to think the good of people.....
Hey we are not connected, just noticed that!! -
MrsRoadRunner ., Mar 7, 2011, 11:11AM ESTOIC well I do photography, computer art is a whole other realm. If it can not come off my camera the way I like it then I should do something else HAHA! I have used irfanview for years! I have the older program and it does what I want it to do.
I understand changing a photo is popular these days (or um people call it making a photo "better"), but it is going out. Talking with the art gallery and some of the women there who brought this up to me got to hear my opinion about the whole computer art thing. The owner was very down on the whole computer manipulation thing. It sounded like the gallery did not want my stuff if it was computer art?? One women even said her and her husband quite going to some art shows because of the computer art, and photography thing. Some of my photographs come off the camera as if they are paintings. I had to assure the gallery owner that this came off my computer like this and I have a whole series and kept the originals if she wants to see them all.
I use a digital because my hands are screwed up. I have braces for both my hands, and elbows but hate wearing them! I have no choice but to use one of my braces, but try hard to go without it too. I have to have the camera strap on or I will drop the camera. The strap makes it so when I drop it, it does not go down to the ground. This is why Guy bought me the tri pod that I have yet to use. I want to do it free hand.
Film cameras or um, the one we have is just to heavy for me. When I can I need to get another brace that fits better. Making my hand unable to move at all. That would help so much. BUT expensive!! I hurt during the week specially after a 4000+ photo day. But usually worth it.....
OMG you can have the weddings HAHA!! Photographers either like them or hate them .
If I see someone the camera likes, it is hard not to take advantage of the situation. Of course changing lenses is not hard or nothing, but just assume have another body if I am going to changes lenses that much. Indoor and outdoor are two different things. I do some indoors with my little caged birds and plants and such, but usually it is outdoors. I am not much into being seen. Meaning I just assume be the person who blends into the wall. If photographing around people I just assume be left alone to do my thing. But seeing how people are (dont some people come up with strange questions? Or they want in front of the camera and this may get someone ignored completely. I do not play well with others HAHA). -
MrsRoadRunner ., Mar 6, 2011, 12:17PM ESTOIC like the rodeo grounds?? Sounds like a great line to me! :0)
You on twitter as well? Mrs_Roadrunner is mine if you want to hit me up. I check in over there several times a day.
Guy is saying I should do night time stuff, told him without the proper equipment it is a waste of time. It is pitch black but for the moonlight. I got some cool shots of a lightening storm over Mr. Jefferson but nature provided that light.
Oh if somehting has to have that much editing done it is not worth it in my eyes HAHA! But I only know how to do the basic stuff.
The party photographs were cool! Heck get paid to take photos and eat too ;0) -
MrsRoadRunner ., Mar 6, 2011, 11:12AM ESTMorning Natalie, I will try and find you over there. Oh who am I to gibe criticism too?? I learned the hard way to stay far away from that HAHA!
That is why the mrs in front of my name HAHA! Oh ya I am all self taught as well. I figure I can pick the brains of those who can sit in a class room for I sure can not! Heck I have a tri pod sitting here I have never used yet!
I like doing wildlife and have been finding out from others why they do not like doing wildlife, which is fine by me. I am surprised at how many use the auto feature..... I guess it just kind of surprised me maybe? The lens goes way to slow for me HAHA!
I have yet to get into the night time stuff like you do. Do you have issues with the light source? Do you supply your own?? Or is the lights from the track and your flash enough?? -
MrsRoadRunner ., Mar 6, 2011, 1:42AM ESTHi Natalie, Oh no problem we all get busy!!
I find it cheaper less stressful just to have processing done by professionals. We do have a local place but have not used them yet. Until I get a one on one relationship with them as I do the place back in New York....
I sold on ebay before so I put up a few more, see how they do?? I wont know until monday if something sold at the art gallery thing that went on yesterday? I am not real social in the real world and need to work on that ....... probably not though HAHA!
Do you have a physical portfolio that people can look through?? So far mine has came in handy!!
Ya, selling these are entertaining to say the least.....Never know what someone is going to want? I had someone pick out 30 photographs, the deal never went through.... ok so I had to revise this and this was all face to face. Now I am insisting on half down, anyhoo one was a white rose. So I put it up on ebay and it sold!! I was more than happy! Of course I did not get what I would have if the person paid for all of them, but still it sold HAHA, you know how that is!! Selling anything is better then nothing! ;0) -
René Allen, Mar 2, 2011, 1:35AM ESTYou're sooo FUNNY Natalie! I got your ping girlfriend ~ LOL!
-
MrsRoadRunner ., Feb 27, 2011, 4:10PM ESTI just had to come over and look at your action go cart shots! Very cool!
Back when , oh it had to be the 80's I ran into and picked the brain of a fella at the rodeo who was photographing the guys riding. He would show up at the next rodeo and sale photographs of the previous rodeo.
If you do not do that at the go cart racing, why not? ;0) Thought it was a pretty good idea! -
Connie C., Feb 26, 2011, 2:21AM ESTDo you take photos for fun or for profit? Or do you do it for both. I am looking to expand the "Live Chat Series". I began in Jan 2010 with just the Author Chats. I then added a bird specialist chat. I would now like to add a Photographer chat.
